Sandie Character Sketches

“What’s Behind the Door” “Victorian Ghost Girl” - Final Character Design Sandie character/animation sheet progress First, I started by doing a rough sketch of my character in pencil to get a feel for her anatomy and what details I did and didn’t want to include. Next, I went over the rough sketches in pen. I decided to give the character a button eye, a Lolita/Victoria style frilly dress, and a hat to fit her doll motif. She has long curly hair that is akin to smoke (as she died in a fire) and her design represents how - despite her dying in her 20s - she still looks very youthful and innocent. This is the final version of the turnaround sheet. Sandie shape language Sandie (to show her young/innocent demeanour) is made up of many round shapes. Her body is a pear shape, with big fluffy curly hair that goes down to her feet. Unfortunately, I slightly overcomplicated her design with clutter, making it hard to focus on her main design.
